I believe in introducing young theatre artists to advanced theatre concepts through the art of play. There is magic in theatre, and it is a privilege to share that experience with her students. She is thankful for the opportunity to work with young artists, as their imaginations, courage, and creativity continue surprise and inspire her. Upon licensure, she plans to work with theaters and theatre artists to offer mental health care services.īuchanan is dedicated to fostering the creative spirit in others. In order to better advocate for artists in her community, she is currently seeking a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has also taught at Purdue University, Franklin University, Urbana University and collaborated with Mount Saint Joseph University.īuchanan is passionate about artists and their well being. Through her work as an educator, Buchanan conducts original workshops and has partnered with institutions such as the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, EdTA, and Madcap Education Center. Additionally, Buchanan is a resident artist with The Nerve Theatre, and works as a healthcare clown with Healthy Humor, bringing joy to the families at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. This will be her fourth summer working at Interlochen Arts Camp and she is thrilled to return this summer.Īs an actor, Buchanan has performed both regionally and internationally, including a German/English production of Faust (Gretchen), other roles include Gloria: A Life (Woman 5) at the Human Race Theatre Company, and she originated roles in Alice in Neverland (Alice) and Dragon Up (Meetra) with the Know Theatre of Cincinnati. Rae Buchanan is an educator, actor, clown and theatre artist.
